Pyro is an abomination that never really filled any role other than spy checking. Valve tried to give this class purpose by adding the air-blast but it's just so borderline useful it is not worth it. A soldier, demo or heavy will fill the spot of the pyro much better and be much more useful. Most pyros are biased idiots who think playing the underdog class is a great sign of "skill". These players think tyhey are good because they manage to reflect shit half the time and they are "kredit to tiim!!!" by air-blasting burning team mates, and juggling ubers in the air. The medic could extinguish his team mates just as well while actually healing them at the same time and a non-retarded demo or soldier can keep ubers at bay easily. Pyro serves no real purpose in the game. By removing the class completely, there would be zero gameplay changes other than Spies having remotely easier lives, but they would still be dominated by any competent player regardless of class.

I think the guy who originally posted that comment couldn't counter a pyro. He's a little baby man that's why.

To be honest, whenever i see a Pyro in our team; i will heave a sigh of relief. This means that there will be less Spies around to backstab us. The Pyro is usually an ambush class. I have seen many many cases where a single pyro would wolf down an enemy group in a matter of seconds. Sometimes I think that the Pyro is actually an overpowered class. This is probably one of those angry noob spies ranting about how much he gets owned by Pyros. I tip my hat to Pyros everywhere

Main problem is 90% of pyro players play the class poorly hence the bad rap. And not just W+M1 players.

Lots of times I'll meet a pyro and instead of trying to kill me he'll start blowing/airblasting me away.

Shit like this is the reason why the Pyro class will forever be looked down upon.

Well, the class is a bit of a odd mix actually,
He is TERRIFYING When the pyro player are GOOD, but
He is LAUGHABLE When the pyro player are BAD.
Although most of the time pyro's are easy fuel,
Once you meet a good one you will shit bricks.
Like Bullz, Projectile classes best be runnin.
The current airblower is already terrifying.
